We're opening up our big international flagship store in Auckland. It's called QUBIC (by REPUBLIC). It's going down on 07/07/07. It's the biggest one of its kind around these parts. We've put a helluva lot of work into it and we're pretty effin' proud of it. So, be sure to come check it out when we're open, I assure you it'll be worth your time, even if it is to come and say hi to the mad Republic familia. We've got Republic en masse in store, and we've got a lot of awesome boutique streetwear designed by friends and big names from Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Sweden, Australia, and other places around the globe, along with one of the largest sneaker selections this side of the equator. We built this place for you guys, so I'm hoping you guys will like it. Check out http://www.solejam.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1224 for even more info! 07/07/07 - QUBICSTORE.COM, it's on.

Over the weekend, sneaker customizer/design Mark Ong, better known as SBTG to most, launched the official lookbook for his label Royalefam’s Fall/Winter 2008 Collection. The new collection, titled Dead Generals, is sort of a rebirth in SBTG’s design concept and creative process. A paradigm shift to whole notion behind his branding, where the old methodology has to be let go, or in a sense “died off”., hence the title Dead Generals. To drive the importance of this across. SBTG started the lookbook with a manifesto declaring “A Death Was Imminent”. Fans could expect a full ensemble of graphic t-shirts, outerwears, cut & sewn and accessories. In addition, gears like skate decks and of course SBTG’s staple, customized sneakers in coordinating color scheme. Expect more information and photos to come in the near future. > SBTG - Royalefam

Gourmet is following a classic hip-hop career arc: they got started by aping an established leader and are now moving on with their own work now that they’ve gained some notoriety. Having jocked classic Air Jordan models for their canvas Santo, Diablo and Cease models, looks like these folks want to prove that there’s something left up the proverbial sleeve. Here we see the two models that comprise Gourmet’s “Resort Collection” for fall/winter. The Due has a zipper that closes over the laces, and the Quattro model is a sleek suede midtop (I won’t even mention that these look quite a bit like Jordan XIIs). Both have a clean, understated look, and you’ll find them at PYS and other Gourmet retailers in time for Christmas. There’s a more detailed shot of each style after the jump. Good look, HB.

Fabrics are definitely making a statement on Nike products recently including this upcoming Air Max 1. The upper of the sneaker feature several different swatches of plaid, which is pretty trendy in fashion and streetwear alike. The mudguard and the swoosh gets a treatment of black leather and the lining and outsole are also colored in black. The midsole is a bright white against the darker upper and bottom. Look of this colorway at Nike retailers soon. Via La MJC More photos below…
